...so let's go back in time to 1897 when Bram Stoker's Dracula was published. It was written as an epistolary novel, which means it was a series of documents. Typically, these are letters, diary entries, and newspaper clippings. Stoker used journal entries and letters from the points of view of several narrators. While Stoker didn't invent vampires, he certainly popularized the genre.
